The school began in 2008 in a small, rented building after tribal conflict resulting from elections. Many widows with children were made homeless and suffering trauma. Originally the school was for pre-primary children but over the years, it has expanded and has grown to cater for 250 students. The school has three pre-primary classes and Grades 1 – 8. From 2023 the campus will expand to Secondary School which will include Classes 9 and 10. Kingdomsons Academy also has boarding facilities and currently houses 50 students in separate boys and girls dormitories.

Meals are provided in a large Dining Hall for the children’s morning tea and lunches. The Dining Hall facility is unique in the area, with a modern kitchen and tables and bench seating. The Dining Hall is a multi-functional building where additional courses are held to further educate the teachers. School assemblies and school celebrations, computer courses and many regional conferences and weddings are held in the venue.

Kipkaren River School Project

Apart from a small amount of parents who are able to contribute towards their children’s tuition, the School has given opportunity to over 250 children who are either orphans or come from destitute families, to be educated. A daily meal is supplied at the school, and two dormitories have been built to house 50 boarders for children who live in the remote regional areas. A bus has also been purchased to bring children to the school.

We have no big churches or organisations supporting the school. We rely solely on the generosity and kindness of those who donate to the on-going needs of the school.
